With the continuous development of information technology, users have increasingly high requirements for network operation speed. In order to support the development of network speed, Also because of the wiring transmission performance requirements on the difference, driving all the integrated wiring manufacturers have introduced more than super five kinds of wiring anti-interference ability, better transmission performance of the 6 kinds of wiring system. Below HDG make a brief explanation of the CAT5E and CAT6 cabling system product performance differences:
Difference in wiring physical bandwidh.
As we know, the larger the physical bandwidth, the higher the supported transmission rate.
CAT5E |
CAT6 |
|
Physical bandwidh |
100MHz |
250Mhz |
Difference in copper core diameter.
The thicker the diameter of the copper core, the better the conduction performance, and the smaller the signal attenuation on the line.
CAT5E |
CAT6 |
|
Copper core spec |
24AWG(0.51mm) |
23AWG(0.57mm) |
Difference of maximum data transmission rate.
The higher the data transfer rate, the greater the physical bandwidth.
CAT5E |
CAT6 |
|
Max data transmission rate |
1200Mbps |
2400Mbps |
Support the 10GBASE-T gigabit Ethernet application standard or not.
CAT5E |
CAT6 |
|
10GBASE-T Standard |
No |
Yes, but the transmission distance can not exceed 37 meters |
Resistance to proximal crosstalk between line pairs
Minimizing crosstalk is the most important basic premise for stable high-speed transmission of data in cabling system. CAT6 cables usually adopt a cross skeleton structure to reduce crosstalk between wire pairs, and its (NEXT) proximal crosstalk performance index is 5-10db higher than that of CAT5E without skeleton structure in the range of (1-100MHz).
