China Unicom Will Carry Out NB-IoT Verification In Eight Cities In China

China Unicom is actively developing the 5G-oriented key technologies of 4G, senior director of China Unicom 5G Innovation Center Fan Bin said at the 5G-oriented LTE Network Innovation Seminar 2016 held on August 12.

On one hand, China Unicom has completed first single region experiment of NB-IoT technologies in Shanghai in 2015, aiming to finish NB-IoT verification in eight cities in China by the end of this year and to meet the deployment requirements in early 2017.

On the other hand, China Unicom has been actively promoting the maturity of LTE V2X industry, targeting to start verification of relevant business in 2017.

China Unicom has capability of single region verification in 5G now, including end-to-end experiment of NB-IoT.
